Chenin Blanc, the white grape of the central Loire Valley, didn’t used to be such a rare bird stateside – prior to 2000, it was actually planted quite widely in California. Alas, most wineries gradually realized there was better return on investment producing Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc. However, the last few years have seen a bit of a domestic resurgence of this is a supremely versatile grape.
Lot 722 is a beauty – elegant yet robust, made in a dry style with light oak influence that is sure to please anyone who loves classic California Chardonnay. Aged for five months sur lie, the wine is produced by a multitalented gentleman who started his career as a sommelier in Michelin starred restaurants before taking his palate to the winemaking side of the industry.
Not too harsh, not sweet, hits just right for easy sipping that isn’t boring. Crisp and cool on a muggy day.
Enjoyed - good price
Really enjoyed this wine. Always drink chards, but this was a nice change. Will be ordering again
Love, love, love it.
I keep buying this lot. My wine budget is blown for this month, but since there's some product left...
Not a Loire CB, but still tasty
I love Loire chenin blanc / chard blends... this one doesn’t bring the same minerality/length but is still excellent at the price point. Good one to try if you are looking to break out of a Chardonnay rut
Super easy and refreshing to drink. Great value!
Love this Chenin Blanc! Well balanced and smooth. Pairs well with chicken and pasta, or just for sipping!
I enjoyed this with a light summer meal and it was perfect. Nice wine at a great price.
loved this crisp white
Great wine! Definitely recommend as it's still warm out and it was wonderful, light and crisp.
This is a very nice white that is a great everyday drinker at a great value!
Summer in a glass
Love this dry, light white for sipping this summer. A nice change from Chardonnay and a great price.
