Wine Details
Absolutely explodes out of the glass with delineated Bing cherries, strawberries, cola, mushrooms, dried tobacco, and baking spices. Upon entry, the wine resonates with tart cherries, truffles, forest floor, and cinnamon balanced over a welcome acidity. The finish is pristine with mushrooms, fresh-turned earth, and strawberry, really giving this wine a sense of terroir that only Chehalem can offer. Outstanding.

Our first blockbuster release of the fall season comes to us from the Chehalem Mountains, home to the highest point in the Willamette Valley and famous for its small, family-owned vineyards specializing in Pinot Noir. Sourced from the Reserve program of a family winery that produces all its wines from estate biodynamic vineyards, Lot 696 is pure drinking pleasure of the highest pedigree – elegance and intensity all wrapped up in one. Blindfolded, I'd be wavering between Nuits-St-George and Oregon Pinot. Absolutely fantastic, and a perfect example of why so many have drawn comparisons between the Willamette Valley and Burgundy.
