Lot 689 comes to us from a household name, made by an acclaimed winemaking team at an estate that has been prominently featured in just about every wine publication and constantly finds itself listed in one “best of” list after another year after year. Produced from two single vineyard lots, aged in 40% new French oak, and sold in the tasting room under the estate’s Reserve label for $30+, this is an absolutely sublime expression of what the best of Sonoma has to offer (and already has a 90+ score from Spectator to boot).
I love this wine.
It has all the notes described.
Not normally a Chardonnay fan but...
This is fantastic. Normally I’m not extremely put off by the butter in Chardonnay but this is perfectly balanced with a bright acidity. Tasted apple, dried apricot drizzled with honey. So many smells and flavors. Highly recommend.
My wife is the white wine fan. We lean more to the Sauvignon Blanc. This was good just not our cup of tea.
Solid, solid wine
Just a great chard - served it at an outside party paired with shrimp cocktail, chicken skewers, etc. - fantastic.
I normally do not prefer chardonnay, but Lot 689 was fantastic. It tasted rich and buttery, and is our first choice with seafood/fish.
Delicious and buttery. Bought a case for the cellar. Our go to Chardonnay for every day use.
Taste of butterscotch with no lingering after taste. Wonderful hints of vanilla with a touch of oak.
Need to Order More!
This has just the right butter and richness - perfect with pizza. And a hint of oak.
This is a great Chardonnay for the price! Goes well with any light summer fare or just by its own while enjoying the sunset.
I order 2 bottles and then felt compelled to order 10 more. Not a buttery as I would expect but just right. This is full-bodied and perfect for summer afternoon and evenings with or without food. It goes well with light pasta and pizza. Wish the summer last longer!
