Lot 689 comes to us from a household name, made by an acclaimed winemaking team at an estate that has been prominently featured in just about every wine publication and constantly finds itself listed in one “best of” list after another year after year. Produced from two single vineyard lots, aged in 40% new French oak, and sold in the tasting room under the estate’s Reserve label for $30+, this is an absolutely sublime expression of what the best of Sonoma has to offer (and already has a 90+ score from Spectator to boot).
Very very nice
this is our every day, dinner, go to, white. it's just really good. Not the MOST buttery, not the MOST oaky, but....if you like like oakey and buttery, which we do, and imminently quaffable, I like that word quaffable, Then go for this. Good stuff Highly recommended. Bought 2 cases. Should have bought 4.
My Go To Chardonnay
This Chardonnay is by far one of the better ones I have tried, and trust me I have tried a lot!
I love all the flavors of this wine and the fact that it is 14.5% is definitely a bonus.
Checks off all of the boxes. Excellent Sonoma Chardonnay!
Wow. Notes of pear, apples and toasty oak. Crisp acidity and a dry finish. If you enjoy a typical California chardonnay you will love this one!
Simply a great Chard!
On the nose this wine was clean and floral. The taste profile was light butterscotch, green apple and wet stone. We enjoyed this wine without food.
Really enjoyed this chard. Full body and buttery, one of the better chards Cameron Hughes has offered. Bought 3 cases
This is a 5 star chardonnay, and outstanding value and delicious. Nice balance of fruit, some oak complexity, buttery and still crisp acidity. My wife loves this as weekday, almost Rombauer-ish chardonnay, at about 1/3rd the cost. We like it better than the CH Napa or Russian River chards.
Really wonderful if you like California Chardonnay. Good body but not too heavy.
Exceptional with a rich chicken dish, or on its own.
Outstanding value. When I look in my cellar and see the Napa, and to Russian River selections from CH it’s sometimes hard to pick one. My spouse loves these! Got to restock!
This is a very nice chardonnay, combining pleasant notes of pears and apples with a buttered toast note.
