Wine Details

Opens with aromas of pepper, acacia flower, and graphite. Bone dry on the palate, with good tannins and delicately inflected blackberry and plums. A lively, chiseled wine with nice fresh acidity and great length – the clean, bright flavors with chocolatey black fruit underpinning will be sure to keep you coming back for more. It’s just beginning to open up, so I recommend an hour decant before drinking.

Washington state continues to surge upward as a premier winegrowing region. However, the cost of doing business up there isn’t quite that of the North Coast, so there are still terrific opportunities to be found on Cabernet. Enter Lot 628 - sourced from a single vineyard planted to silt-loam soils of one of the oldest wineries in the Walla Walla Valley (with perhaps more Cabernet growing experience than anyone else in the entire state), the quality of winemaking here is first class, and I was able to get it for an incredible price.

A good wine. Medium body and medium dry. Just right for a pleasant meal.

So, my choices over the last few months of CH wines would be 609 for a treat, eat myself the Walla Walla for value. Love this wine for the value !

Again taking tips from the master, CH, let it breath! Yes he is correct, once again, it really opens up. I am truly becoming a fan of Washington State wines.

Discovering a wine like this at this price is one of the reasons we keep ordering from CH. This is a lovely representative of Washington State winemaking, a thoroughly pleasing cab that is tasty and smooth now and should age well... if we have the willpower. Likewise, give it some time to breathe after opening the bottle - it really opens up.

This was a very light cab and we really enjoyed it. We didn't decant it because we didn't read the reviews first (wanted wine NOW), but it was still very nice and really opened up as the evening progressed. It didn't seem too dry and had nice tannins. We are really like the Pacific Northwest wines!

One of the better cabs I’ve bought off CH. I’d rather buy this any day over the similarly priced wines at the liquor store.

I love all wine from washington. It is much cheaper than napa valleys wines and almost as good. It seems you keep far more for your money in washington wines.

If you are thinking it might be TOO dry, not at all. I agree with decanting for an hour before drinking. What a nice Cab at an everyday Cab price.

Shared this wine with 5 friends and every single person fell in love. We have all ordered more since our get together. Best after 45 minutes or more after opening. Highly recommend Lot 628 for a gathering.

This is a great wine with wonderfully rich and complex pallet - definitely let it breathe for at least an hour. It was very tight out of the bottle.
