Wine Details

Classic cracked seashell and saline profile – this is a sea breeze in a glass, and perfect for summer. Leaps out of the glass with uber-fresh notes of ripe citrus blossom and green apple, mingling with crushed seashell. Zingy on the palate, with nervy acidity in a lip-smackin’, rock lickin’, mid-palate citrus explosion, with saline and citrus blossom barking up your retro nasal cavity. Sounds fun, right? It is.

Lot 547 is born of granitic, alluvial soils a stone’s throw from the Ria de Arousa Estuary in the heart of the Salnés Valley of Rías Baixas, long known as the birthplace of Albariño and its greatest expression. Obviously I can’t name the producer, but they have some of the oldest plantings of Albariño in the region and you can be assured that the name is ubiquitous amongst Spanish sommeliers. Year after year, their Albariño has been rated 90+ by Galloni’s Vinous, Wine Enthusiast, and other top publications.

Lot 547 is the 2016 vintage of the same cuvee as our fan favorite and best-selling Lot 523. If you were a fan of the 2015, this wine is a dead ringer. Compare at $20.

Great Albarino! Crisp, clean citrus taste that's not too sweet. Wish I had purchased another bottle.

As a red drinker I found this to be very refreshing. I’d definitely buy again if it wasn’t sold out!

Wonderful wine. Regretfully, I think it is just a memory.

Really great white - clean and crisp. Enjoyed with some chicken but imagine it would be perfect seafood. Can't believe the price.

I've drank other Albarinos, but this is the best so far. For me the first taste and scent was pineapple, not citrus. Very smooth and pleasant tasting. This qualifies as a weekend breakfast wine.

This is a very light white, and I recommend drinking it ice cold sitting outside on a nice spring day!

I have never tasted Albarino before. I love this wine! Just the right amount of minerality, crisp, and dry. Summer in a bottle.

We discovered Albarino last summer during two weeks in northern Spain. This particular 547 wine has a dry citrus fruit, but also a hint of gravel. The wine is a very fine representative of the varietal.
It is smooth with a clean finish. Spaniards love it with pulpo (octopus) and all seafood. Since the region where it grows is near the coast, that paring is natural, but this wine pairs well with chicken and white sauce pastas too.
