Wine Details

Ripe and bold right out of the bottle, with a lush berry mélange backed with ripe plum and dark chocolate notes perfectly integrated with peppery, meaty, earthy notes. It’s warm on entry, with a rich yet juicy sensibility to its ample, well integrated structure. Waves of fruit and chocolatey oak notes resound through the mid-palate, finishing with a floral flourish. Great everyday drinker, but will also impress with its lush complexity and excellent balance.

Our first Sonoma Syrah release since Lot 12, this a small 250 case production that I scooped up from a jaw-droppingly beautiful winery that boasts a history of being one of the oldest in Sonoma. Home to estate vineyards that were specifically planted to take advantage of the cool climate, the veteran winemaking and vineyard management teams produce wines in a state-of-the-art winemaking facility with all the bells and whistles. A little bit of extra inventory from the 2014 vintage means that today’s offering is yours for $15 (half the tasting room price!). Ready to drink now, this is a terrific deal that no Syrah lover should go without.

My wife and I are fans of Syrah and this is a very nice one, especially for the price. We've had it hanging around a while, so it was very accessible without a decant and well-structured. My only minor criticism is that it was a bit thin and hot/alcoholic on the finish, though not really harsh, just a bit of roughness to an otherwise fine experience. Yet another fine offering.

A Syrah is not the typical wine we normally drink but thanks the the CH wine club, we get to explore new worlds of taste. This was a very good wine and would have been really great with food, I'm sure, but we tend to open a bottle of wine prior to eating. I know, how gauche! It really opened up once we let it sit a little while.

Syrah, good or bad, is hard to find in the typical wine store, so I am always on the lookout. This wine does not disappoint. It has a full flavor, with lots of berry, and spice, but not peppery. It's a very good value and stands up to BBQ ribs or nicely complements a hardy cheese.

We should have ordered more bottles of this one. Tastes of leather and berries come through. Great one

This was a nice Syrah, but not as deep and fruit filled as anticipated. still good.

Some fruit on the nose but not much on the taste. I got a lot of bitter taste on the finish. Don't know if it will get better with time but not my cup of tea.

My wife and I love Syrahs and really enjoyed Lot 508. However, we did not care for the flavor profile of this Syrah. We will be ordering Lot 542 this week, and expect we will enjoy it more!

At this price point it is a wonderful wine that we have purchased for every day drinking.

This is a way young wine; hard to enjoy at this point in its life. Given all the hype, I sure hope cellaring benefits this juice.
