Wine Details

Expressive nose of floral dark fruits, red currants, and graphite right out of the bottle. As the wine opens up in the glass, a dusty minerality and notes of oaky mocha finish out the aromatics. On the palate, pure and juicy red fruits mesh with graceful tannins to deliver a mouthwatering texture with expansive breadth and tremendous finesse. It all finishes seamlessly with a smooth, fleshy, and almost glycerin-like texture—fantastic. This bottle will age another decade easily, but it’s more than ready for immediate enjoyment with a good decant!

This is a single vineyard wine from St. Helena. The NDA is a mile long, and we're sworn to secrecy. That said, we're happy to go along with the program because they regularly produce wines from $75/bottle to well over $100. Aged in 50% new French oak.

Outstanding Cab! Very smooth. Worth the wait.

This Cab deserves every award it has received. It has been my go to Cab. I am very sad to see it go.

But not far behind.

I opened up a bottle of this last night and loved it. Very dark color and equally rich on the palate. Smooth finish. Came to the site to order more, so I'm disappointed to see that it is sold out. I guess I'm not surprised though. These 2012's were quite impressive.

I am sad that this one is gone. I prefer it to the 555 (which I purchased at the same time). It is full-bodied and rich - smooth, yet tangy. This is a wheelhouse Cab...

Almost in the "buy again" category for me, but not quite. For the money, I much prefer Lot 555.

Delicious, ready now, silky smooth, sorry it's gone. If you are like me and purchased this along with some of Cam's other big fall releases, I would choose this for serving now for the holidays over Cam's other 2012 "big cab" releases. It is definitely ready to go and doesn't really require a decant. Opened last night and aerated the first glass and a half. Been savoring the rest tonight poured straight from the bottle- sweetness has definitely intensified, but balanced. While I tend to favor bluer fruit and drier, earthier cabs, and this is surely more red fruit, it is still a thoroughly enjoyable to me and gift worthy if you were lucky enough to pick some up.

bought some to stuff in the cellar for a decade or two, and very glad we did . . . though, it's gonna be tough to wait that long! This wine is a wonderful ride. Deep, complex, balanced, contemplative. Just a superb wine, and a fine value.

Rebecca

It was good the first night and better the second. Could drink this one now or cellar a couple years.

My wife and I opened a bottle of 432 last night and the first thought we had was that this was truly a big fruit forward cab. Our intial observation was that the fruit was very evident and that it would stand to benefit from a nice long decant. As a matter of fact we will drink the other half of it tonight after a full day of breathing to see how it compares. We believe it could use a couple of years in the cellar to balance out a bit, so if you have your stash of well-aged CH Red, like we do, then this is an awesome wine to put in the rotation!
