Wine Details
Gorgeous pure and effusive aromas leap from the glass…lavender top note, with sweet blueberry, white pepper, and earthy, mocha bass notes. The palate echoes the nose, with deep, rich flavors of blue/black berry pie and sweet florals. Huge depth and complexity. Purity abounds throughout, but especially through the long, lingering finish. Delicious.

The Santa Ynez Valley (located in northern Santa Barbara County) is world-renowned for being home base to some of California’s finest Syrahs, and this release is no exception. Lot 408 is an amalgam of Syrah fruit from two fantastic vineyards, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Andrew Murray, our producer partner (who consistently gets 90+ pts from both Robert Parker and Antonio Galloni for making “fabulous” wines of “exceptionally high quality”), always crafts compelling wines, but the 2012 release is nothing short of marvelous. Sourced from a program in the $35-$40 range, this release is an absolute steal at $15.
