Excellent Syrah with characteristics of a Pinot.

This was an excellent wine that was medium bodied and Ruby and color. It had characteristics of a Pinot so if you like Syrahs and Pinots you will love this Syrah.

Good and simple

This was a good drinkable wine but not complex. I probably should have let it breath a little longer. I never can wait.... Santa Ynez Valley wines are near and dear to us and we tend to favor them over Napa, but I was not as excited with this one as others. Still, as with all CH wines, its a great value and worth a try.

Great bold Wine

Really enjoyed this wine. Sorry we didn't purchase more. Looking forward to the next batch of Syrah.

My favorite red

Love this wine. Should've purchased more. I don't think it is available anymore. Definitely 5 stars.

somewhat disappointed

Thin drinking. Lacks finish. CHW has much better red choices.

good everyday wine

This wine drinks like a ripe Cotes du Rhone. Black/dark fruit on the nose with some minerality. We drank it over a couple of hours and it seemed to get better with each glass. A good wine for everyday enjoyment.

a very good syrah but could be bigger. not quite as good as Lot 431 Zin. Good enough that I bought more of it twice.

Good value

Although this is certainly an enjoyable wine with good value for the price, we found it somewhat thin and without as much character as other CH reds, which can be outstanding even in this price range. Perhaps, as other reviewers suggest, we should have let it open up more.
