Ripe aromatics of blueberry fruit and cassis, and backed by a hint of olive. Juicy and rich on the palate, showing blue fruit essence and chocolate oak. A smooth, incredibly approachable red that isn’t overly weighted. Simply delicious.
The Languedoc has been undergoing a revival of sorts, as more quality-oriented producers move in to take advantage of some of the older vines in the area and global competition woke up some of the sleepier producers to clean up their acts. These samples immediately grabbed my attention, reminding me of a rock solid Central Coast Cabernet. The wine is a blend of 63% Cabernet, 19% Merlot, 18% Malbec. It’s a ridiculously good wine for everyday drinking.
