Lot 373
2011 IGP Pays d'Oc Meritage (France)

Same producer as favorite Lot 343! Cassis, olive and lush blue/black fruit aromatics gently touched with toasty-mocha oak.
Ripe aromatics of blueberry fruit and cassis, and backed by a hint of olive. Juicy and rich on the palate, showing blue fruit essence and chocolate oak. A smooth, incredibly approachable red that isn’t overly weighted. Simply delicious.

Style: Medium, Smooth

Flavors: Blueberry, Cassis

Cam Confidential
The Languedoc has been undergoing a revival of sorts, as more quality-oriented producers move in to take advantage of some of the older vines in the area and global competition woke up some of the sleepier producers to clean up their acts. These samples immediately grabbed my attention, reminding me of a rock solid Central Coast Cabernet. The wine is a blend of 63% Cabernet, 19% Merlot, 18% Malbec. It’s a ridiculously good wine for everyday drinking.
