Wine Details

The nose is practically concave, drawing you down into the dark, arresting nose of blueberry essence, savory meats, fresh lilacs, woodland berries and pepper. Yes, it’s that complex despite its youth. Full of vim and vigor and almost black in color, this incredibly concentrated wine is simultaneously floral, savory, and fruit-driven, its flavors effortlessly mingling in an incredibly transparent structure. A pitch-perfect and stunning wine, but again, patience is required.

Cam Confidential

Sourced from one the great houses of the Rhône Valley from what critics almost universally acclaim as one of the best vintages ever in the Rhône, Lot 355 2009 Côte-Rôtie is as faceted and clearly delineated a wine as we have ever offered (I must warn you, however, the best is yet to come...probably another 2-3 years in the cellar at a minimum). While the producer prefers a more elegant and finesse driven blend at $120, our proprietary blend combines power and finesse and is an incredible value at $40.

Super nose - jam, tobacco, and spice aromas all over. Drinks super smooth, with silky tannins and dark fruits, earth, and plum on the palate. Full bodied deliciousness.

Ian B, Oakland

Jam, tobacco, and black pepper aromas, with cherries and earth flavors and a delicious finish. Super syrah.

Josh, San Francisco

Dark fruits, jammy aroma and dry tannins. This is what I would call an "understated Syrah."

SF Dana

Nice deep purple wine with soft tannins and chocolate and currants. Little bit of tobacco, too.

Dee, Palo Alto

Tobacco, leather, black pepper aromas, and earth/coffee on the palate. I found this wine a little too strong and overpowering for me, but I see why others would like it.
