Wine Details

Golden with green apple tint. Vibrant aromatics of citrus and wet stone aromas with fresh cut caramel apple and hazelnut dominate the nose. The wine is round upon entry with like flavors dominating the palate. Brilliant, flinty acidity keeps the wine afloat and brings it to a dry, round finish with lingering notes of caramel apple and hazelnut.

Cam Confidential

This wine is brought to us by the same grower group that produced our recent Pinot Noir and Napa Merlot releases. Lot 215 2009 Willamette Valley Chardonnay comes from the northern end of the Eola-Amity Hills regions, home to many of Oregon’s finest Pinot Noir grapes. The cool-climate, combined with shallow, well-drained volcanic soils, is IDEAL for both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Lot 215 is all done in stainless steel with a partial malolactic fermentation to soften some of the acidity and round out the mouth feel of the wine.

This is an interesting wine. my first impression was, wow, this one is sweet! Like honey, but less so, of course. And then a certain fruitiness develops that takes over and lingers. With every sip there's a little something extra. I don't know what flint tastes like (that word was used in some of the notes for this wine), so I'm not going to use that term. I'm just a normal guy who either likes or doesn't, and I do like this wine. It tastes light, belying the 14% alcohol content. No oakiness, just happy summer notes that are, well, sweet, but in the good way. I believe this wine is sold out, but I'd buy more if I could. Another solid CH product.
