CHW Confidential
Vincent Dureuil is a gifted winemaker blessed with some exemplary older-vine vineyards that for years have been cared for organically - a higher level of attention that sets Dureuil qualitatively apart from the pack. His touch translates each individual terroir into a liquid picture of what the best of Rully can be. Made from 40 year old vines and aged 18 months in French oak barrels, bottled unfined and unfiltered. A well-placed villages-level vineyard surrounded by premier cru plots, ‘En Guesnes’ is always complex, smooth and savory.
Jean-François Coche, the legendary icon of Meursault and head of Domaine Coche-Dury (a top 5 Burgundy domaine whose prices you can look up on your own), had this to say about Vincent Dureuil and his winemaking talents: "If I see his name on a wine list, I don't give it a second thought and simply order his wine."
