Wine Details
Surprisingly effusive right out of the bottle, with beautiful ripe florals, raspberry kirsch, and crushed red rock surrounding a core of blackberry, cassis, and chocolate. Perfectly balanced on the palate, with a sexy raspberry bramble backed with chocolate notes and mineral infused tannins in a long and sweeping finish.

As the list faithful well know, we have been producing wine from Stagecoach Vineyard for many years now, primarily sourcing from the legendary M-Block. The robust harvests of 2012 and 2013 gave us an opportunity in 2014 to also get our hands on Cabernet from the equally prestigious L-Block just next door. Planted to the long-time workhorse of Napa Valley, Clone 7 Cabernet, Stagecoach L-Block’s combination of altitude and lean volcanic soil produces richly fruited, yet powerfully structured wines. Considering one of Napa’s most famous names makes a Cabernet from this same block that sells for $150+/bottle, I think it’s safe to say this is absolutely classic Napa Valley Cabernet at an incredible price.
