Wine Details
Lot 526 pours a yellow hue with a vibrant green tinge, much like the wines of Chablis (the stuff from France, people, not the crap in a jug). Acacia blossom, lemon oil, and white pepper explode from the glass with a slatey mineral backbone. It’s layered and nuanced on the palate with a rich fruit entry but with plenty of nerve on the pure, slatey, lemon-lime finish. Absolutely gorgeous (not to mention mouthwatering), and showing way more class and sophistication than just about anything from CA at this price point.

Sourced from a legendary limestone vineyard in Santa Barbara, this wine found its way into our hands as a “shiner” (bottled wine with no label), and has already spent over a year in bottle and cellar. With the aging already taken care of, it’s drinking beautifully and ready to go for summer quaffing. No oak aging, no malolactic fermentation - minerally and crisp yet delightfully rewarding on the palate, this is a refreshing change of pace – here you’ll find the native flavors of the Chardonnay grape, and trust me, you won’t miss the oak or butter.
