Hughes Wellman was launched in 2009, beginning with the 2005 Napa vintage. The idea behind the wine was to produce a small lot, grapes-to-glass Napa Valley Cabernet that showcased our winemaking ability in addition to our ability to source incredible wines. To date, the Hughes Wellman Cabernet series has garnered over 15 gold medals, multiple double golds, and platinum medals, along with consistent 92+ scores. A passion project and a celebration of over 50 years of friendship between my father, his friend Sandy Wellman and his son Colin, the Hughes Wellman label has become our flagship wine and represents the best of what Napa Valley has to offer.
