Lot 383 | 2011 France
Same producer as fan favorite 343! A super bargain, perfect for everyday drinking.
Discounted shipping on 12 bottles. Free shipping on 24 or more.
Lot 383 offers cassis, olive and lush blue/black fruit aromatics gently touched with toasty-mocha oak. The palate is classically built with pure fruit flavors nimbly entwined with fine grained tannins. Delicious.

Earlier this year some of our US wine brokers came to us with samples of wine from Southern France in the Languedoc. Famous for ocean’s of innocuous plonk, the Languedoc has been undergoing a revival of sorts as more quality oriented producers move into to take advantage of some of the older vines in the area and global competition woke up some of the sleepier producers to clean up their acts. The samples immediately grabbed my attention, reminding me of a rock solid Central Coast Cabernet. We had a set of components sent over and our winemaking team put together this Meritage of 63% Cabernet, 19% Merlot, 18% Malbec. It’s a ridiculously good wine.
Cam, please bring us some more of this. The 2015 harvest is a very good one.
Great value and goes well with any food. Third case I have ordered.
Keep them coming
It will be a sad day when lot 383 is no longer available. I've purchased this wine off the shelf of retail stores and can't wait til I get a chance to get a few cases. This is an excellent value for a wine that goes many meals or just a glass at the end of the evening.
Pleasant.....enjoyed by all
Gave some out as gifts......all said, the wine was Great and enjoyed it. I explained that it was limited in supply and would be sold out.....so enjoy it while you can!.......bring on some more!
Bargain of the year
I had this wine before, so on Black Friday I bought another 10 cases. Very soft, very drinkable red wine. No need to decant just open and pour. My go to wine with friends. Drinks like a $20 bottle. Delicious with anything.
I bought yet some more of this and I am reviewing it SECOND TIME.
Here's the deal....it has big well balanced fruit up front ...a mix of blackberries and raspberries....tannins up top and a finish that begs for another sip. This is prob the nicest Cote I can remember.
Terrific Value---For a Quality Wine
The 383 Meritage is a "terrific" value just purchased another case----a nice gift idea!
My goto wine
I bought a good supply of this wine based on Lot 343 success last year. It is a great party wine that everyone will enjoy. At $10 this is a real bargain. Costco has oodles of French imports every year under $20. Most often they are not that good and usually disappointing. CHW has had many French imports, and starting with Lot 54 years ago they have all been well worth the money and this one, price and value considered, is tops.
Can't get any better than this little guy for $10. Easy drinking everyday wine that is well balanced and smooth. If you drank it blind you could never guess that its only $10. I'm hoping not everyone finds out about so I can buy a few more cases before it's gone. I definitely recommend adding a bottle or 2 to your next order to discover this hidden gem.
No better deal around
Let's be honest. This isn't going to stand toe to toe with the big Cabs as far as overall experience goes, but this little guy still packs quite a punch!
If you buy this with the right discount, say 30% black Friday or something, you get this wine for $7 bottle. I can say that for a nice well-balanced everyday red, you cannot find a better deal anywhere. This easily drinks at 2 to 3 times the price.
Well done Cam!!!
