CHW Confidential
Earlier this year some of our US wine brokers came to us with samples of wine from Southern France in the Languedoc. Famous for ocean’s of innocuous plonk, the Languedoc has been undergoing a revival of sorts as more quality oriented producers move into to take advantage of some of the older vines in the area and global competition woke up some of the sleepier producers to clean up their acts. The samples immediately grabbed my attention, reminding me of a rock solid Central Coast Cabernet. We had a set of components sent over and our winemaking team put together this Meritage of 63% Cabernet, 19% Merlot, 18% Malbec. It’s a ridiculously good wine.
