Wine Details

The 2009 vintage Cabernet Reserve is wholly inviting with impossibly deep and nuanced layers of dark red fruits. The growing season was marked by moderate temperatures and minimal weather events that allowed the grapes to develop to full maturity for full extraction, depth, and color. Gorgeously aromatic, with lifted floral notes embellished with layers of dark plum, sweet raspberry, clove and mineral framed by polished yet juicy tannins for a long and sustaining finish.

Cam Confidential

A winery owned by one of the biggest names in cult Napa Valley Cabernet has quietly changed hands. The vineyards themselves were not a part of the transaction, and because of the lack of continuity in vineyard sourcing for future productions, the winery's library collection became available. The Cameron Hughes Private Reserve Collection is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a piece of one the world's most exclusive wine libraries.

Put on your big boy or girl pants and enjoy. More powerful than the 2008 when we recently went through our private reserve collection. Big is better

I agree with Marc, this is hands down the best CH wine I have had, this is a must buy.. I had the whole vert, and I have gone back and bought many bottles of the 09 only..

Opened this with some friends with a hour decant. The bouquet was excellent, the wine was very smooth and wonderful. Can't wait for another one.

This one and the '06 are my favorites, followed closely by the '07. Everything you want from a rich, dark Napa Cab in terms of aroma and taste.

The 2009 is one of the finest wines I've tasted in awhile; dark, velvety, full on the palate from front to back, hints of chocolate ... yum. The 2009 ranks right up there with Caymus SS and Stags Leap Cask 23 (at half the price, no less); and far superior to the 2006 PR. I am baffled why it's rating is so low.

We loved the 2006, found the 2007 and 2008 to be good, but we poured this on down the drain. For us, it was just not drinkable. We have yet to try the 2010 and 2011.

This wine is delicious. Very round and smooth on the palate with great flavors of dark chocolate and dark fruit. Tastes expensive...

I purchased the private reserve collection and the 2009 was my favorite of the bunch! The entire set was amazing but if I had to pick one, the 2009 would be it. Just a perfect Cab.
