Pale straw in the glass, the nose is terroir-driven with gooseberries, wet stones and flint haloed by lime zest. The entry is expertly balanced across medium+ acidity while keeping a rounder mouthfeel with the introduction of honeycomb and white floral notes. The finish is clean, dry, and resonates with delicate umami waves for a medium length completion. A wine screaming to be at the dinner table, this would best be served with raw shellfish or grilled fish in deliciously simple presentations.

CHW Confidential
While White Bordeaux can pale in comparison to it's Rouge brethren, no pun intended, it too stands on strong laurels, with an ageablity of up to 25 years in exceptional cases - matching the aging greatness of the finest Chards and Rieslings from around the globe. So, what if we told you we scored an exceptional case? We've postulated this to age gracefully over the next 10 years, however, those amongst us with the correct storing conditions might want to throw another 5 on, and see if it can go even further.Â
Lot 862 comes to us from one of the premier regional producers of Bordeaux Blanc, with multiple generations of family tending the vines and land. Hand-harvested and produced in an "old school" style, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon are expertly blended to encapsulate the region's terroir while staying true to the family's generational house stylings. A gem for any French Négociant, it's a wonder we were able to get our hands on some of this fruit for stateside release as the Chateau isn't one to generally sell this outside of France itself.Â
