Beautifully dark in the glass, raspberries, blueberries, leather, and black currant define the nose while the palate is kissed with pyrazines, red fruits, and bold, dry tannin across medium acidity. The finish is complex and terroir-driven, with dusty notes of suede and iron leading to a minerality and je ne sais quoi that only Bordeaux can produce. So...who’s making steak?

Lussac-Saint-Émilion is a beautiful sight to behold: cool climate blankets the more elevated satellite appellation filled with rolling hills of alluvial clay soils, plateaus, and small valleys completed by historic Bordelaise estates and rows of vine as far as the eye can see; it’s the perfect home for grapes like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec.
Lot 854 comes to us from two vineyard sites in the region, one situated to the west and planted on clay and limestone plateaus, the other in the cooler northern clay soils. Masterfully blended by a winemaking team that’s no stranger to hosting foreign talent for mentoring and internships, the global flow of talent paired with a modern winemaking facility and world-class offerings is offset by the deep, deep history that permeates almost every corner of the estate itself and surrounding land. From this results a blend dominated by Merlot bolstered by Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec; a powerful and complex wine with excellent structure and velvety mouthfeel – this one is built to age!
Like many other Bordeaux houses, it’s not uncommon to see high prices associated with their offerings, but when we’re able to get our hands on it this young, the value is unquestionable, and as always, passed on to you.
