Pours a deep, deep ruby in the glass with a signature Lambrusco foam. The nose is delineated between delicate blood orange, violets, and cherry. The entry is drier for an off-dry wine, accenting cherry and rhubarb with secondary terroir flavors culminating in ethereal soft leather over medium acidity and small, polished tannins. The finish is clean and a bit dry, offering delicate wisps of cherry on exit. Break out the charcuterie and hard cheeses, or go all in with a pizza party.

CHW Confidential
Lambrusco is an ancient grape which has been planted in northern Italy since centuries before the birth of Christ. Today, modern Lambrusco is a frizzante sparkling red wine (with a foam more closely resembling beer than the tiny persistent bubbles of Prosecco, as you can see in the video below), and you’ll find it being enjoyed by the locals at just about any café as you stroll through the city centers of Emilia-Romagna. In the 70s and 80s Lambrusco was actually the #1 selling import wine in the US, though it's since fallen out of favor stateside because most of the product making its way to our shores these days is mass-market produced and cloyingly sweet. This, however, is the good stuff.
Lot 841 comes to us from an 1800s-era family winery in Reggio Emilia, at the heart of Emilia-Romagna. An off-dry rustic expression of Lambrusco Salamino and Lambrusco Marani grapes, the wine leans on the drier side and uses sweetness to supplement its complexity instead of putting it front and center (though it's still less sweet than our Moscato d'Asti releases). It’s fruity, lively, and fresh, but make no mistake – this is not a dessert wine (though it can be if needed) – it’s traditionally a dinner wine or aperitif, and best served with food like most Old World juice.
