Located near Portland in the northwest of Oregon and sharing the same latitude as Burgundy and Bordeaux, it’s quite appropriate that the Willamette Valley has become one of the finest winegrowing regions in America. Of its six sub-regions, the Chehalem Mountains occupies the highest point, formed by colliding tectonic plates and millions of years of volcanic activity around the Cascade mountain range. Home to about fifty wineries mostly specializing in Pinot Noir, this AVA has been instrumental in elevating the status of Oregon winemaking to where it is today.
Lot 828 comes to us from the south-facing slopes of a stunningly beautiful estate in the heart of the North Willamette Valley. Produced from organic and biodynamic vines planted in fine silt loam soils and crafted under the watchful eye of a winemaking team comprised of both local and French talent, it’s no surprise that this wine itself is Old World-leaning in style – Burgundian in spirit and presentation, and showcasing an elegant, refined nature. There isn’t a single Pinot Noir at the source tasting room sold under $60 – yours here for less than a third of the price!
