Dark on the pour but not entirely impenetrable, the wine opens with a nose defined by dark fruits and wet stones, with undertones of mint and vanilla. The entry is supple with cherry and terroir, exploding with mouth-filling dusty, velvety tannins over deftly balanced acidity. The finish is long, with waves of red fruits, spice, and barrel-kissed vanilla. An exceptional cellar contender, this is one to grab by the case and open every 6-12 months and watch its evolution.

Cam Confidential
Rutherford is iconic for its ancient, mineral-rich soils that produce wines with a halo element of fine dusty tannins (a.k.a “Rutherford Dust”) – a signature quality that has become synonymous with the legacy of the greatest vintners of the region. There are few places in California wine country with a more illustrious pedigree, and we couldn’t be happier that we secured this gem for you.
Lot 818 is a fabulous offering from the historic heart of Napa, going for $90 under its original winery label and made with all the precision and finesse you’d expect from a producer of this caliber. Aged in a top-notch barrel program, it’s unmistakably valley floor Cab the moment it hits your palate, with the signature dustiness on full display. Though it easily has a decade+ of life ahead of it, the wine is already very enjoyable now.
