Dark and brooding with an almost-opaque core on the pour, Lot 788 opens with a nose vibrant with violets, currant, graphite, and boysenberry. On the palate, that dark and brooding nature becomes fully apparent – black fruits, dense texture, medium acidity, and highly grippy tannins that find every corner of the mouth. The finish is surprisingly clean and dry, filled with vanilla umami. Another fabulous cellar contender to add to your Napa Cabernet arsenal.

CHW Confidential
Lot 788 comes to us from a legacy Spring Mountain estate, produced from meticulously farmed vineyards by a winemaking team that includes one of the most famous names in the valley. This is a dense, brooding wine with a Petite Sirah/Petit Verdot-like staining quality that coats the glass, showcasing dark structure and ever-present tannins – obviously crafted with extended cellaring in mind. The wine goes for triple digits at the tasting room, but foot traffic was down last year for obvious reasons and the opportunity presented itself for us to scoop up a few cases – as always, we pass on the savings to our customers.
