Lot 781 comes to us from a Rutherford winery right in the heart of Napa Valley, radiating all the quality you’d expect from the handiwork of a first class winemaker who was given the green light to use all the bells and whistles. Bursting with beautiful aromatics and Rutherford terroir right as the first pour hits the glass, it’s a strikingly well-built wine that’s Old World in spirit; if you pay close attention, the giveaway that this wine has an American origin is the absence of bell pepper on the nose while showing a darker extraction with fuller texture (which is archetypal Napa). Everything else falls more in line with European stylings.
Truly the best of both worlds, and simply phenomenal juice that’s already drinking fabulously despite its youth. This is the best Cab Franc we’ve sourced in years, and a smoking deal at this price.

This Cabernet Franc is a Winner!
We could not wait to try this bottle of Cabernet Franc!!! We decanted the bottle and let it sit for an hour before tasting and the wait was worth it. We enjoyed this bottle with filet minots and a summer salad...It was a wonderful bottle!
Young and Fresh
Fresh fruit and acids were bright on first taste. This wine is edgier than cab francs I’ve had previously. It smoothed out a bit the next day and the finish seemed longer and richer tasting. I will give it a few months and try it again.
This is a medium-bodied red. To the nose indeed terroir. The flavors are an amalgamation of cassis, peppercorn, compost with mild tannins. We liked this Cabernet Franc better on the second day. Overall, a nice and interesting wine. However, the price tag of $29/bottle tempered my enthusiasm.
