Wine Details
Give this one a moment to breathe in the glass, and you'll be rewarded in spades with aromatic cranberry, cherry, garden sage, and French thyme, delineated with undertones of cinnamon; absolutely beautiful juice! The palate is robust (for a Pinot), showing great concentration and acidity with a focus on terroir. A finish of small, firm tannins is revealed during a long, resonant outro, fading slowly and beckoning for another sip.

Lot 771 comes to us from the Chehalem Mountains, home to the highest point in the Willamette Valley and famous for its small, family-owned wineries specializing in Pinot Noir. Sourced from the same Reserve program as Lot 696 (Double Gold & 94pts from the SF Int’l Competition), Lot 771 was produced by a winery that produces all of its wines from estate biodynamic vineyards, and is definitely Old World-leaning in style – the wine could best be described as an Oregon Pinot that’s Burgundian in spirit. Exhibiting a character that is reminiscent of Gevrey-Chambertin, the wine makes it easy to see why the Willamette Valley draws so many comparisons to France’s apex Pinot producers.
