Sonoma continues to be the source of incredible values - Napa's larger, more laid back neighbor consistently offers stunning quality for price relative to its more famous counterpart. The Alexander Valley AVA is the largest and most fully planted wine region within Sonoma, and has been producing critically acclaimed Cabernet since Rodney Strong sold the first vineyard designated Sonoma Cab in the mid 70s.
Lot 770 is sourced from a boutique winery with vineyards planted in rocky red volcanic soils and bathed in the AVA’s warm days and cool nights, and the wine shows all the hallmarks of an archetypal Sonoma Cab: red currant, black cherry, signature acidity, and red clay. Still quite young, it’s already showing tons of promise and punches way above its weight class - one of the best value Cabs you'll find all year.
