Mendocino delivers seriously terrific quality for price. It’s home to an eclectic mix of small family wineries on California's North Coast, bordered by redwood forests to the east and a rugged coastline to the west. Famous Napa and Sonoma wineries have been augmenting their wines with Mendo fruit for quite some time now, but some of the appellations within Mendocino have emerged as stars in their own right while still maintaining relatively approachable prices – the Anderson Valley, Mendocino Ridge, and Yorkville Highlands AVAs are particularly renowned for their quality.
Lot 766 comes to us from a family winery that’s been growing grapes for six generations (starting in the mid-1800s). 150 years later they’re still at it, guided by a “minimal intervention” winemaking philosophy and letting the fruit do its work. No complaints here – their wines are a fantastic expression of what this region has to offer, and we were happy to scoop up this small batch of 2018 Cab from their cellars.
Open this awesome bottle for dinner last night! Both my husband and I enjoyed it, my husband said "It is Wicked Good" hope to order more
Gorgeous deep rich color, flavorful, non fussy (short decant), and delicious. The only thing missing is having more available.
We thought it was great
Finally opened this bottle and we really liked it and of course it is sold out! Always an adventure with tasting new bottles of Cameron Hughes wine selections but we love it. Liked the jam and not too many tannins.
Lean and Lovely
A well made Cab that is not over extracted. Fruit is there, but not jammy or syrupy. This is definitely a food friendly Cab.
No fruit bomb
Dark and blue fruits on the nose. Dark fruits, dark cherries, slight tobacco, nice acidity and mild oaky tannins on the palette. A nice peppery finish. Tends to tannin-up towards the end of the glass, but not objectionably.
Another great can from cam. Great for the price
This was a great bottle! Like others have said, I wish I would have tasted this before it sold out, as I would definitely grab a couple more bottles!
Nothing extraordinary here, just another solid cab from Cam. Balanced oak, which I prefer. Great value.
beautifully pared with my grass fed filet
Grab it while you can
Looks like a few bottles are left. This one is a steal! Juicy. Sweet. Good size. Pop and pour! Not the one for the wine aficionado coming over, but perfect for a party!
