Located in the rolling hills at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains at 1500-3000 above sea level, the Sierra Foothills AVA has a history of viticulture dating back to the Gold Rush era of the 1840s. It’s home to about 100 wineries (mostly boutique and family-owned), almost all of which are too small to be picked up by national distributors. This is where our reach and access really shines!
Lot 765 comes to us from a winery located high in the El Dorado sub-region of the Sierra Foothills, right in the heart of California Gold country. Produced from 45+ year old estate vineyards planted at 3000ft, the wine was crafted by a winemaker who has tended these vines for over 30 years, and spent a year in oak before bottling. Showing plenty of backbone and mountain terroir, it’s now ready to impress at your table. This is the very definition of a California hidden gem.

Great value, great wine
Don't let the price fool you into thinking this is just some cheap red wine- it is not. It's not one of those over extracted zins that smack you in the face. Nice berry flavors, drinks better and better with a little time. It's become a go-to wine for dinner when I smoke meats- great accompaniment for BBQ. Zin grows well all over Cali, but Amador zins are special.

Delightful depth
I love red Zins when they have a good body. This one delivers a great body and still very drinkable by all. Great with grilled meats and pizza! Just ordered a few more bottles.

Good value
This is not a zin that knocks your socks off but is a great every day wine. Great with split pea soup. Will stand up well to foods that don't require a strong presence.

Nothing special
Nice nose that fades fast after opening up the bottle. Ok concentrated dry fruit. This is a dry zin. Good food wine that is drinking now but may improve with a couple of months storage. Good price but I would not buy more of this as it is too dry for my tasted.
