Earthy Tones, Great Flavor
Old world style with lots of earth tones. It was well-balanced with a lasting astringent finish. Perfect wine to pair with almost any food.
Let it breathe or decant
Excellent once it sat for a while. Poured a small taste upon opening the bottle and it was completely different after an hour or two
Smooth and balanced
I appreciate the CH policy of finding good quality Piemonte wines, especially Barbaresco. This is a great example, showing the qualities of the grape. Very smooth, with obvious but not overpowering tannins. Unlike other Barbarescos in my cellar, I decided not to hold onto this, but to open it immediately. After waiting about two hours after opening, this wine showed a nice combination of power and subtlety. The next day, it was even better with added smoothness.
We love this wine. It is so good now, that I don't think we can keep it longer! Will be buying more,
Value Plus Some...
The price of this Barbaresco made me curious to try. After decanting for two hours, I found this to be worth every penny. I have to imagine this will only improve with a few additional years in the bottle. A great value.
Very good now
Another great value! The first bottle was very enjoyable, even at this young age. Can’t wait to see what a few years in the cellar will do.
Excels with Italian picks
Cam always excels with his Italian picks, and this is no exception. Really get the "mushroom-y terroir." Best after being open for an hour or two.
very nice wine
I enjoyed this wine, can definitely taste the spice notes and didn't feel was too acidic. I appreciate being introduced to so many different wines with the CH club, this is so very interesting to me as I enjoy every bottle. I will say this was not my favorite, but certainly worth buying again!
Solid From An Outstanding Appellation
The more feminine, subtle expression of Nebbiolo from Barbaresco has great balance and offers semi tart red fruit with a subliminal undertone of tar. Very sound and curious what this bottle would be like in 5 years. Maybe buy a case.
Susan and Kent
We found this wine to lack depth of character and it is a bit acidic. Even after a night of air exposure the flavor didn't really impress. We have a second bottle that we will let age a bit to see if it improves with time.
