Lot 725 is sourced from a pioneering, family-owned estate that’s one of the oldest not just in the RRV but all of Sonoma (with a storied winegrowing history dating back to pre-Prohibition). Produced by a winemaker with top pedigree and over a decade of experience in both the Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys, the wine is aged for over a year in oak and is showing marvelously already.
Absolutely gorgeous nose, bold yet quaffable, under-$20 pricing from an elite appellation…what’s not to love? This is first class Zinfandel at an outstanding quality for price.
Strong fruit, Nice balance
Deep dark color. Nose full of blackberries and plum - strong fruit. Nice tannin balance - not overly bitter. Even better 3 days in the bottle.
A Good Zin
I enjoy this wine. It is good right after opening and is even better the next day.
Russian River Zin
The wine is very drinkable with tastes of dark cherry, slightly jammy, wonderful aroma.
Peppery, ballsy and you can drink it now!
A very nice wine at a great price. A 9 of 10 in my book.
Big wine with good balance between medium and full body. Good value for the price and highly recommend
Zin's not my favorite but...
.... this is a nice one. Interestingly, the reason I like it is the same reason some other reviewers don't. I liked the drier, less fruity/jammy character than typical zinfandels.
One of my favorite regions for Zin, nice bottle, maybe let the other one rest a while. Fresh, good value.
A Fine Zinfandel
This Zin is nuanced with plenty of fruit and complexity. It's great by itself but a nice wine with food too. Give it some time to breathe after opening and you will be rewarded. CHW has great Zinfandels IMHO.
Had better Zin from CHW but not bad.
I found this wine not big or bold like other CH zins I loved. Smooth, no burn but no pop either. Real easy drinker. I guess it depends on what the drinker expects from their zin. I need more flavor, more mouth appeal, more zest from my zin. At a minimum, at the very least, a good value.
