Lot 725 is sourced from a pioneering, family-owned estate that’s one of the oldest not just in the RRV but all of Sonoma (with a storied winegrowing history dating back to pre-Prohibition). Produced by a winemaker with top pedigree and over a decade of experience in both the Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys, the wine is aged for over a year in oak and is showing marvelously already.
Absolutely gorgeous nose, bold yet quaffable, under-$20 pricing from an elite appellation…what’s not to love? This is first class Zinfandel at an outstanding quality for price.
This one goes in the good not great camp for me, a little light on taste.
Big in Every Way
I was really looking forward to this bottle. Was pretty satisfying, big in every way. I think this'll be great by next year!
Nice Zin great price!
This is a beautifully colored zin with just the right amount of fruitiness. Nice rich and full bodied. Will be buying more! Thanks Wine Club for introducing me to this one~
Lots of Dark Fruits
This zin is good. It pours very dark. There's nice hints of plum, raspberry and a hint of licorice. Nice comfortable dry finish.
Nice, big, fruity
This is a "big" zin. Good nose. Lots of fruit without any cloying jamminess. Moderate tannins and some spice. Doesn't really feel/taste like a 15.5%. Preferred the Lodi (730), but this is quite good.
aromatic with a nice finish, but it is off on the mid palate. a little too jammy and sweet
A great Zinfandel by my standards. Bold and rich. I really enjoyed it!
Bold, Smooth, Fantastic
This is a great value and the best of the CH Zins I have had. It is smooth, better on day 2 and I’m about to order a few more bottles to save and see how they’ll age.
Big Bad Zin
I agree with many of the reviews. Big and Bold, dark in the glass. drinks like a $30 bottle. Definitely more of the dark fruits with pepper so it does not come across as jammy, but rather inky and rich. I have already ordered more. Your friends will like it.
we opened our 1st bottle and immediately funneled it into the decanter with a slow pour to let it fully breath. Wonderful balance with a somewhat powerful alcohol after taste. I highly recommend this Russian River Zin.
