Located in the south of Mendocino, at the headwaters of the Russian River and Navarro River watersheds and separating the Alexander Valley from the Anderson Valley, the foggy vineyards of the Yorkville Highlands AVA are planted in rocky, gravelly soils that offer terrific drainage at high elevation (850-2500ft).
Lot 724 is our first release from this region in almost a decade, sourced from a picturesque little family-owned winery nestled at the northwestern side of the Anderson Valley. Produced by fantastic winemaking talent with top training and pedigree that left the big names to pursue a labor of love to call their own, this is a dynamic Pinot aged in French oak that showcases terrific character and a sense of place.
Good value and easy drinking...
...as usual with Cam's pinots. He tends towards the less fruity, more Oregon-/Burgundy-style, even with his CA pinot noirs, which I appreciate.
A holdover from a June shipment. Not the best CH that we’ve had but at this price point there still lots of value compared to your local wine shop. I’d order more.
Fruity and Floral
Not my favorite, very fruit and floral. if you like that direction for Pinots you will love this.
Interesting note, but too thin
First time, the rose hip note came in. I’m not a big fan of it, but it was interesting. Then the following was not impressive. It tasted too light. As time went by, the note faded and the palate became thinner.
Buy again? Unlikely.
I enjoyed this a lot. Very interesting with a lot of baking spices on the finish. My wife, who is the big pinot fan didn't enjoy as much. She found it a bit thin,
One of our favorite pinots.
Very smooth. Have ordered 2 cases so far
Nice Pinot that is reminiscent of Oregon and Burgundy Pinots. Subtle fruit, smoke and earthy nose.
Very nice. Smooth and light. Very drinkable.
An excellent price for this Pinot! We liked enough to order 4 more!
Delicious Pinot. Notes of rhubarb, earth and cranberry. Great value at $15.
