Located in the south of Mendocino, at the headwaters of the Russian River and Navarro River watersheds and separating the Alexander Valley from the Anderson Valley, the foggy vineyards of the Yorkville Highlands AVA are planted in rocky, gravelly soils that offer terrific drainage at high elevation (850-2500ft).
Lot 724 is our first release from this region in almost a decade, sourced from a picturesque little family-owned winery nestled at the northwestern side of the Anderson Valley. Produced by fantastic winemaking talent with top training and pedigree that left the big names to pursue a labor of love to call their own, this is a dynamic Pinot aged in French oak that showcases terrific character and a sense of place.
Fruit forward with a warm spice finish. I've lost my taste for pinot noir overall but this was good. Would be great with some acidic sauce to balance it out.
Smooth and balanced
Nice pinot, well-balanced with a medium body. Smooth finish. Would get this one again.
Good with Salmon
This Pinot nicely complemented the salmon we had for dinner. A little lighter than some we've enjoyed , but still enjoyed very much
I had to look at the bottle again to be sure this was not an Oregon Pinot .
Really well balanced, served it at about 68 degrees
This is our third order of this one and has been a real favorite. I'm sorry to see that it is sold out.
nice everyday wine
A little light but it grows on you with each sip
Disappointed in this one
initial nose was good, but that faded quickly. some off flavors on the palate. usually love pinots from this area, but not this one. switched to a different wine that night.
Good with Pork
Enjoyed this lovely pinot that grew on me after breathing a little. Seemed a little light at first, but more flavor as it opened up.
Great Pinot for the price
This is a wonderful everyday wine which goes with everything, even salmon.
A Modest Wine at a Good Value
Not my favorite CH wine, but still has the high quality you’d expect of Cameron Hughes.
