Located in the south of Mendocino, at the headwaters of the Russian River and Navarro River watersheds and separating the Alexander Valley from the Anderson Valley, the foggy vineyards of the Yorkville Highlands AVA are planted in rocky, gravelly soils that offer terrific drainage at high elevation (850-2500ft).
Lot 724 is our first release from this region in almost a decade, sourced from a picturesque little family-owned winery nestled at the northwestern side of the Anderson Valley. Produced by fantastic winemaking talent with top training and pedigree that left the big names to pursue a labor of love to call their own, this is a dynamic Pinot aged in French oak that showcases terrific character and a sense of place.
Not expecting to like
I was surprised that I really enjoyed this Pinot. I normally stick to Cabs and Zinfandels. This has me revisiting my thoughts on Pinot Noir. So clean and light. I will have to purchase this again to make sure I like it as much As I think I do.
A Very Good Pinot
Would buy this again and again. Easy and delightful drink. Will not disappoint Pinot lovers.
Delicious value pinot
Fruity with a dry finish. Makes you want another glass!
Light and Easy
Very drinkable and a nice light red wine.
We did not pair this correctly, but the lightness of the wine went well with the heavy cream sauce in the pasta. Then it was great on its' own. And the price is great!
I usually like and enjoy most of Cams Pinot. Not this one. It had no bouquet , very acidic, light body and dry. I did not agree with Cams tasting notes. I could not fined much of what he described. First time in 10 years that I rated one of Cams wines a 2.
This is a steal
Please, know your varietals. This is not a heavy cab; not a tooth-staining Zin. If you like big wines, this might not be your fave.
But it’s a lovely medium red; complex and understated. I got two sets of spice, early and on the short finish. Very well made wine! Add it to your cellar for summer drinking and you’ll thank me
Very Pleasant Pinot
Received this Pinot Noir in the March Wine Club shipment. Didn't give it much of a nap but opened it a day or two after delivery. I was very pleasantly surprised but it's smoothness and delicate dark fruit on both the nose and palette. Ordered a case when it was released this week.
First wine we drank from the March club shipment and possibly the worst wine we have tasted from CH. This Pinot is very light, both in color and flavor. it is easily the lightest and least flavorful Pinot I have consumed. The term that comes that best describes the flavor is thin. Neither my partner nor I liked it, especially the first taste. We finished the bottle, but would not drink it again, even if it was free. I have had better Pinots that were half the price. Very disappointed.
Finished the bottle
The best wine from the March club, methinks! Great nose, and I like that the oak is there just enough.
