Very dark in the glass with an impenetrable core, greeting you with a nose of roasted red bell peppers, cassis, and plum paste, all haloed by eucalyptus. On the palate, white pepper, tar, leather, and small, firm tannins carry across expertly woven acidity. The finish is long and dry, beginning in the red fruit spectrum and quickly shifting to the depths of the rooted soils – while not French, dare I say terroir?
