Despite being most famous for its Nebbiolo offerings, Piedmont’s #1 most planted and widely produced red wine is actually Barbera. A super drinkable, robust, versatile and food-friendly wine with no need for extended cellaring before hitting its peak, the Barbera produced here is the everyday wine of the Italian people (when they’re not drinking Chianti from Tuscany), and is consumed just about everywhere at all times of the day.
Produced from DOCG vineyards in the heart of the Asti region of Piedmont, this is on the darker side of the spectrum for Barbera, stylistically combining the zip of Asti with the robustness of Alba. Produced largely in stainless steel, with a small portion going to neutral barrel.
Nice summer wine
This was a little lighter than some of my favorites, but was really enjoyable with a caprese salad and lamb shanks. We liked it slightly chilled. Nice food wine, very drinkable.
A Left Fielder
I almost never get Italian wines (a Barolo now and again) and this was way outside my ken, but I liked it. More tart than I expected. I'll venture down this road again.
I have to admit this has been our least favorite so far. Still a good wine for the price.
Sorry to hear it is out of stock. Easily drinkable wine with a mild bouquet and a light taste.
Really nice wine!
Solid New taste for Us
Just opened our first bottle last night. This was a new enjoyable taste for us. Luckily I trusted Cam's review and have plenty more!
We enjoyed this varietal during our tour of Italy and this lot brought back wonderful memories.
Delicious wine with a pasta dinner!!
Robust and Tasty
Wow!!! This wine has such a wonderful taste that last on ur palate, till ur next sip. Now I see why it’s out of stock. Fantastic.
Great spring wine
We've only opened two bottles so far but are extremely happy with the bright and earthy flavors it brings to the glass. Super approachable and (almost) to easy to drink! Only downside is, I wish I'd ordered more :)
