Wine Details
Opens with high-toned strawberry and spice notes atop toasty oak, but this quickly evolves into an amalgam of red cherry and rhubarb fruit with hints of dark red clay along with the oak. These deep and ripe aromas are reflected on entry, where plush velvety fruit is round on the palate and leads to a long, resinous finish. A terrific expression of the fantastic 2017 vintage in the region - nicely balanced, very approachable, and a screaming deal to boot.

Located north of Santa Rosa off Highway 101 and accessed through a winding (and rather intimidating) mountain pass, the Anderson Valley AVA is a peculiar area that seems to have resisted just about any of the changes that you will have seen in Napa and Sonoma. The source for today’s release is a family winery located in the “deep end” of Anderson Valley, where the cooler climate produces Pinots that are more elegant and pure than oaky and powerful. Still richly fruited but with an elegant sense of balance, Lot 687 is right up the middle stylistically - an imminently quaffable wine at an exceptionally reasonable tariff.
