Tried to wait, but couldn’t resist.
I tried to hold on to it, but broke into the bottle early. Must say, I was not disappointed. My only regret was not buying more when it was still in stock.
Big, bold, dry complex red that opens up after a bit in the glass. Tasted blackberry and tobacco. At first I wasn't sure, but got better with each sip, and when a big juicy burger was added to the mix. Continued enjoying it through a dark chocolate dessert.
All gone... Pity!
This is what happens when I wait a few months before getting to taste something from a shipment. Would have definitely had a few more... Agree that this is lighter, with black fruit and just hints of tannins. A bit surprising given the components of the blend, but still well executed. Great match of price and quality.
if only there was more! was a great all around sipper for anytime
Out of stock for a reason
Out of stock, given its popularity.
Seemed to be a very simple blend with little complexity making it a very universal drinking wine. I should have stored it for a couple years to see what it would have done.
Seems true example of terroir....
for Languedoc Pay d'Oc. Must admit, though, I tend to agree with a few of the other reviews which included words like "thin" and "lacking complexity". I think my problem was that I opened and tasted just after finishing the last of the previous evening's bottle of Lot 638 Yakima Petite Verdot. My expectations of more P.V. giving some hearty backbone to the Cab blend went unfulfilled. What to do in that case? Open another 638!! Maybe some hard to find 80-100% Syrah-based Rhone wines will become available down the line to give us another "taste of France" ?
Nice Red Blend
This had nice fruit but lacked a little complexity. Maybe store in the bottle and see what it does?
Red blend, delightful
This was a happy experience. Nice flavor and great price.
Hard to Resist
I should cellar at least one of the four bottles I ordered, but this wine is hard to resist.
Nice fruit but thin.
Nice fruit at the beginning but then uninspiring body and finish. A bit thin and lacking complexity. A decent light wine for lighter dishes/food but not the more elegant experience I was looking for
