A big, rich, killer old vine Petite Sirah-Syrah blend that comes to us from a gentleman who has spent the last 30-40 years producing wine up there in Mendocino. Located north of Napa and Sonoma, bordered by a rugged coast to the west and redwood-blanketed mountains to the east, the region is home to an eclectic mix of about 100 small family-owned wineries that specialize in growing Mediterranean climate grapes like Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache, and Zinfandel. Care to know an insider secret? High-end Napa and Sonoma wineries have been purchasing Mendo fruit to strengthen their wines for a long time now.
The quality for price found in this wine will blow you away.
Rich and full bodied
This blend is rich and full bodied. Deep ruby color. The large percentage of Petite Sirah gives it the depth of color and structure, but not as tannic as I expected. In combination with the fruitless of Syrah, this wine is nicely balanced and substantial. A great value for the price.
Surprised how yummy
I was not expecting much as I'm not a huge fan of red blends and boy was I wrong. This is a beautiful blend in every single way. You can't beat the price and the wine goes down easy! Buying a lot more!
Would buy again
Nice flavorful blend and easy on the wallet. The Petite Sirah adds good backbone and counterpoint to the fruity Syrah.
This is unlike previous Field Blends. This one has lots of coffee/leather/chocolate nuances.
Pours inky in the glass. Enjoyed and have repurchased twice
Really enjoyed this Syrah blend in addition to lot 694. Lot 694 was a lot richer and something I suspect most people would enjoy more, but I thought this 674 was more to my tastes. I'll be ordering more!

Full Bodied Winner
I like to see Petite Syrah as a blending component in wine. With a blend of 75% Syrah and 25% Petite Syrah this wine shines. The Petite Syrah gives this wine a dark color with a full bodied mouth fill. Luscious with very light tannins and a nice medium finish. Would work with food and as a cocktail wine. Price is a bargain for this well made wine.
Enjoy this now
This is a lovely wine. Although the alcohol percent was a bit higher than I usually like, we shared with friends and we all agreed it was a balanced and easy to drink wine. Hard to beat the quality for the low price.
A Red that is Ready Now
Purchased based on advice from a colleague and wow I’m glad I did. This wine drinks great right now - no need to put away and hope it improves... although I will get more to put away and see how it improves!
Easy drinking weeknight wine
This wine goes down easily without a lot of tannins but also escapes being velvety...something I really dislike in wines. The blend is quite pleasant and the price is right. I didn't think it countered very well...it had an off "old" taste and smell on the second night. It was still drinkable just not as good as the newly opened bottle.
Easy to drink sitting outside
I can't get over the price for this wine. It was so good and tasted like it should have been much more. Very easy to drink on it's own. Let it breathe for a bit.
