Reminds me of a friend in college
I have a little wine blog on FB and this was my review of this wine:
This wine reminds me of a nice guy that I would go out with. I knew this guy wasn't my forever guy, but we always had a fun time. I enjoyed seeing him, but I knew he wasn't my special man. This wine is a nice daily drinker, but it's not going to blow your socks off., kind of like the guy in college. For the price point it's a winner.
SPICY UP FRONT
Yes, pretty spicy on the front end. Oaky finish. I have liked many of the meritage wines from CH, and like this one also. Tried earlier, and ordered 9 more bottles which arrived last week. Enjoyable wine- will be fun to see what it tastes like in 2020!
Another nice red blend
I have been pleased with all of the CH Meritages that I have tried and this one is no exception (especially for the price). I only ordered one so I plan to get some more to hold on to for after the summer months.
Lovely fruit flavors
We shared this bottle of wine with family that was visiting. Everyone enjoyed it! The only problem was that we only had one bottle! We loved the red fruit flavors. Highly recommend.
Another wonderful meritage
Wonderful meritage. Skillfully blended. The Cab Franc and Petite Verdot give the wine character without overpowering the fruit in the Cab Sauv. The long finish is something you would expect from a much higher priced wine (think refined "cigar-box", but in a very good sense). I bought a second case, even though I have a full cellar.
Our Little Secret
Shhh, don't tell anyone--but for $15 this Meritage is awesome! I was little disappointed when I first opened the bottle (it seemed thin on the finish), but it quickly turned into a balanced and refreshing Cab that was hard to put down. Will buy again.
An interesting meritage
I feel like CH has all of a sudden released some interesting meritage wines. This is one that I've enjoyed twice and look forward to more.
