A cool climate region located southeast of Monterey Bay with direct exposure to the Pacific Ocean, Arroyo Seco is one of California's smallest AVAs. The foggy and windy nature of the area, combined with low annual rainfall due to the rain shadow created by the Santa Lucia Mountains to the west, make it a perfect setting for Pinot Noir grapes.
Sourced from a high end winery program and aged for 15 months in oak barrels, Lot 656 punches way above its price point and is a surefire bet to be your go-to Pinot for any and every occasion.
Great California Pinot, I usually like better the Oregon ones, but this one was excellent. Oaky notes, relatively full body for a pinot, good tannins, very well balanced.
I agree with other reviews, I should have ordered 10 more
I prefer Cabs and Zins. However this Pinot is complex and full flavored. It has a wonderful mouth feel. Very enjoyable. I reordered when more was discovered. If you like a "big" Pinot ... this is it!
I wish I had got more. My only regret.
Too much oak
Too much oak for my taste, it really overpowered the cherry/strawberry notes. Would not buy more.
We checked clean out of stock and no more left
So disappointed it’s fabulous and we enjoyed it so much
Major League Pinot
It is a beautiful translucent plum color. It has an abundance of small fruit. The oak aging stands out. The tannins are well balanced. It has a wonderfully long finish. It is a well balanced wine from top to bottom.
Rich beefy pinot
This is a richer style of Pinot than some might expect. We loved it. It leans toward the California big red end of the spectrum and is absolutely delicious and full flavored. I have a taste for the subtler lighter pinots but my wife likes the big reds, and this one satisfied us both.
Sorry to see out of stock! I should of order more
Why didn't I order more??
We were both shocked of the quality of this Pinot! I'm the red drinker, he the white....we both loved it from nose to taste. Classic to my taste...more cab like. Tastes of cola, slight chard oak, ripe raspberry, dark cherry and chocolate. Wow! Thank you CH!!
