The fourth and final release in a series of exceptional red wine values we’ve sourced from a family-owned, boutique North Coast winery that specializes in small-lot, top-quality wines made from certified organic vineyards in Lake County and the Sierra Foothills (and boasts a massive laundry list of 90+ scores and double gold medals from the past decade to boot).
Sourced from a kick-ass volcanic vineyard site at about 1500 feet elevation, in smartly-planted, conscientiously-farmed vineyards. Farmed to perfection and produced to be reflective of place and varietal, this is a powerful statement of quality. Already a terrific value under the original label at $25, and an incredible deal under ours.
Deep dark and tasty
May have too much tannin for some but i really like it.
Smack in the face bold!
I really wanted to like this one based on reviews of others before I bought a couple of bottles. It is definitely a "tightly wound" dark red that exhibited a lot of tannic bite immediately after opening. I did like the really bold deep berry flavor, but had difficulty with the "pucker factor". I had hoped it would open up a bit after sitting, but on day 2 it had not changed appreciably. I let it go another day and it still had not smoothed, but finished the bottle anyway. All in all, just not my favorite CH Petit Verdot.
Not much of a nose initially, very tight. Very dry, black and blue fruit, long finish. Be patient, I think this could be amazing with time to open up!
This is a big brawny red. Good now, but I think it would polish up nicely with a little aging.
I ordered this because it was a good price for a wine I was not familiar with. It turned out to be a great surprise. Wish I could get more.
I'm glad that I got to try this before it ran out and will try this varietal again. Delicious and a good value.
Great Value Verdot
Dark purple ink, intense aroma, and deep berry taste !
Great wine, hope it returns
An example of how CH lets you find new grapes to fall in love with.
Excellent Petit Verdot
This is a wine variety that you do not get to try often and this is a great big wine. We enjoyed it and hope to get it or something like it again.
So Happy it came back.
When I bought my first few bottles of this, I tried to order more after my first glass only to find it was sold out! So glad it came back. Huge depth and flavor here. Don't miss out before it's gone again.
