The third in a series of exceptional red wine values we’ve sourced from a family-owned, boutique North Coast winery that specializes in small-lot, top-quality wines made from certified organic vineyards in Lake County and the Sierra Foothills (and boasts a massive laundry list of 90+ scores and double gold medals from the past decade to boot).
Sourced from a kick-ass volcanic vineyard site at about 1500 feet elevation, in smartly-planted, conscientiously-farmed vineyards. Farmed to perfection and produced to be reflective of place and varietal, this is a powerful statement of quality. Already a terrific value under the original label at $25, and an incredible deal under ours.
dark and rich
Glad I bought more than one bottle - was enjoyable and didn't last long, but realized that a bit of air helped when there wasn't much left! Will plan ahead with the next one, and open early. Was good through the aerator; it'll be even better in the decanter!
Ecstatic with this wine!
We bought 3 cases during the Black Friday sale based on our love of Petite Sirah and the prior reviews. That’s a big gamble to take on a wine we had not even tried. But we are very pleased - this wine is so tasty and is an incredible value. Simply wonderful.
Excellent Petite Sirah!
This wine pours dark and is full bodied yet it is balanced. Nice flavors of blueberry and plum with a refined finish. We ordered more. Decanting is recommended.
Go to every day red.
I love the value of this wine. Great fruit. This is a great everyday wine. Can’t beat the value.
What a great surprise!
When I think of Syrah, a heavy wine comes to mind. Not so with this Petit Syrah! Smooth, silky and with good fruit. I almost hate to review this wine, as it will probably sell out before my next order!
Fruity, well-balanced and smooth with a hint of sweetness, though dry
This was a delightful wine that stood its own with our Thanksgiving turkey dinner. It is well-balanced and smooth on the pallet with plentiful blueberry and plum notes. It has a hint of sweetness, though dry and a bit of tannin on the finish. Definitely a big player despite the "Petite" in its name.
Great value red
What a nice surprise. This PS was a lovely everyday drinker. Full bodied enough to satisfy but not overpowering, with rich flavors. We had a pizza with it but burgers or a steak would also work well. What a great deal on the price too!
Wonderful Petite Sirah
We loved this Petite Sirah. Very smooth and easy to drink!
Bottle #2. Love the deep color, very well extracted.
Decanted for about 4 hours this time, fresh blueberry and pie crust with a hint of plumb on the nose.
Personally, I find the roughness of the spicy, blackberry, and plumbs with the stone-like peppery finish very enjoyable.
Amazing petite Sirah here !
One of the Best Petite Sirahs here and a great price too!! I immediately noticed very pronounced notes of Blueberry on the nose, as well as hints of chocolate and spicy notes. This was a very smooth and easy to drink red. A 30 to 60 minute decant definitely helps open it up. Not to dry or sweet, great finish too. Once again, No Bitter wine face! Cheers, Trent
