Sourced from a fourth-generation family producing terrific Zinfandel from 30-50 year-old head-trained Zinfandel vines, Lot 636 is an archetypal expression of California Zin. Aged 16 months in French and American oak barrels, it's a pitch-perfect example of the varietal in its purest form – rich fruit, pepper, and spice are all there in a beautifully aromatic and sumptuously structured wine that delivers big on complexity but also nails the fun factor. $20 under its original winery label.
