Sourced from a state of the art winery with vineyard holdings in California's most desirable Pinot regions and boasting over 50 Pinots over the past decade that scored 90+ from Advocate, Spectator, and Enthusiast, Lot 629 is a lovely, pitch-perfect expression of the grape – beautifully perfumed and lush.
Initially, black cherry, pie crust, some light baking spice. Baking spice pops first in flavor, followed by the cherry and some light oak. This is a solid pinot for the price, but it isn't something that'll blow you away.
Rich Pinot Noir
Another very good pinot noir from CH. Rich, balanced fruit and acidity and a nice finish. Well done.
This is a pleasantly smooth Pinot to the palate. It’s a little heavier but still nice change from Oregon pinots.
From a great neighborhood. Have had some superb lots from Santa Maria in past (remember 503?). We love central coast pinot. This one was unexciting. Fair midweek choice, but had hoped for better
This Noir was an enjoyable drink. Low key not too exciting.
A good, everyday pinot with strawberry and cherry flavors, not overly complex, but very drinkable.
Bought two bottles and really liked it. Knowing that certain lots don't last long immediately ordered 6 more bottles. Now it's sold out. Strike while iron's hot!
I never was a real Pinot lover, but really enjoy this one.
Disappointing Pinot Noir
Lot 629 Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir lacks balance and has little if any fruit.
I have been a Pinot Noir fan for over 50 years from all countries.
Cameron Hughes Pinots whether from California, Burgundy and most recently Oregon have been excellent and exceptional values. Unfortunately this latest offering is comparable to a $6.00 grocery store generic red wine.
Another great value from CH wines
Has a inviting fruity, slightly earthy nose. Ripe fruit. Medium, approachable texture. Flavors of strawberry, a substantial lengthy finish, with slight smoke and a touch of tobacco. Overall, well balanced. Worth savoring and a great Pinot Noir value from Santa Maria Valley.
