Sourced from just inside Napa Valley's northwest border in Calistoga. The fruit for this amazing, blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a fantastic low-elevation site in the rolling hills at the bottom of Mount St. Helena, where the Black Mountain Gap provides a welcome respite from the heat on the eastern side of the Calistoga appellation. Aged for 18 months in Taransaud, Allary, and Sylvain French oak, this Clone 337 Cabernet combines ripe valley floor fruit profile with powerful hillside structure, exuding a ripe, yet balanced richness from tip-to-tail. Produced by all-world (literally) winemaking talent in the heart of Calistoga, this Cabernet is the exact same as the source winery's triple digit offering. To boot, I can't find any Cab from this vineyard for less than $175.
Following in the footsteps of Lots 200, 300, 400, 500, 555, 600, and 606, today’s release is a signature representation of what we do best as an organization – offer some of the world’s finest wines at a fraction of the original price.
