Sourced from just inside Napa Valley's northwest border in Calistoga. The fruit for this amazing, blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a fantastic low-elevation site in the rolling hills at the bottom of Mount St. Helena, where the Black Mountain Gap provides a welcome respite from the heat on the eastern side of the Calistoga appellation. Aged for 18 months in Taransaud, Allary, and Sylvain French oak, this Clone 337 Cabernet combines ripe valley floor fruit profile with powerful hillside structure, exuding a ripe, yet balanced richness from tip-to-tail. Produced by all-world (literally) winemaking talent in the heart of Calistoga, this Cabernet is the exact same as the source winery's triple digit offering. To boot, I can't find any Cab from this vineyard for less than $175.
Following in the footsteps of Lots 200, 300, 400, 500, 555, 600, and 606, today’s release is a signature representation of what we do best as an organization – offer some of the world’s finest wines at a fraction of the original price.
Legit Premium Cab
I'll add a disclaimer that we opened a bottle of all of our 2015 varieties over the last two weeks. I know these reviews won't help with purchasing advice but hopefully helps those who may still have these laying down.
This is probably one of those "personal preference" things, but this is the type of cab I really enjoy. Dark in the glass but it is absolutely bursting with fresh flavor and lip smacking fruit flavors. It finishes strong but clean. To me this is a quintessential Calistoga cab and it does not disappoint. It will age well from here but it is drinking great right now.
Enjoyed with fresh goose topped with a cranberry chutney. Fantastic. Sad to say I only have a couple bottles of 616 left.
2/25/2019 - I like this wine: (Edit) 92 Points
Big wine- inky dark. Long legs, has cedar, dark fruits, spices, cigar box aromas. This wine clearly out shown the Beringer Knights Valley Cab. Long on the taste-tongue. Starting to come around. Shows like a $ 75 cab, this is why I buy from Cam Hughes. A complete hit. Would like to put it in a blind tasting.
Big black cherry aroma, some blackberry and loam. Assertive, yet balanced...leans more blackberry in the flavor, with notes of cocoa. I absolutely love this one...wish I would have gotten a case.
Indeed a great wine. Still a little on the young side. Glad I was able to get some
before it was sold out. I will come back to it in a year or so.
We all commented on what an excellent wine this is, truly fantastic. Saving to share with good friends, probably our favourite yet.
OK, but needs time
We'll see how this is in a couple years.
Superb taste for so young a Cab. We served it for Thanksgiving dinner with great success.
Full-bodied, yet soft enough to please every palate. As a result it is quite versatile.

My wife and I purchase 20+ cases / year from CH and have been happy with all their wines....but 616 might be the best we have tried from Cam ....ever! Love it
This wine took a long time to decant, but it really opened up. The deep fruit flavors are incredible.
