What a Gem
Its deep purple hue is followed by a beautiful bouquet of black cherries and blueberry fruit intermixed with hints of cedary spice, toasty oak, graphite, and flowers. With an almost Bordeaux-like structure, this is a full-bodied wine with plenty of ripe tannins that are mellowing nicely. The finish is long but makes you want come back for more. Too bad there is no more to be had. I drank Lot 601 before this offering and declared Lot 601 one of the best I have tasted. That may have been a little premature. Lot 608 I believe is a tad better. So sorry I did not order more.
Glad i waited
Patience is Rewarded
I try to lay down a bottle of each of the yearly superstar cabernets and come back to it a few years later. I poured it without a decant and it was fantastic. Big and fruity with well integrated tannins, and a small kick of acidity at the finish. Even better on day 2. If you haven't enjoyed Lot 608 yet your patience will be rewarded.
Yes Yes Yes
I'll add a disclaimer that we opened a bottle of all of our 2014 varieties over the last two weeks. I know these reviews won't help with purchasing advice but hopefully helps those who may still have these laying down.
This is great, quintessential Napa cabernet. A bit more fruit right out front than what I expected, but that works perfectly with the overall tasting experience of this. The flavors are bright and vibrant, and it all comes together beautifully. The one thing I will say is that, even as it drinks great right now, I think another 12-24 months will bring out even more greatness here. It will be tough but I will be "hands off" for a bit to let this mature into an even bigger superstar.
Shows great promise but needs more time
Opened this wine in July 2018. Dense and rich but mostly closed upon opening; this is definitely not a pop-and-pour wine. Give it a minimum of 90 minutes of air. I put about 1/3 of the bottle on argon and tried it on Day 2, which was not as good. I think this wine has lots of potential but will need another 5 years minimum before showing its stuff.
This wine represents why we continue to love CH wines. Simply fantastic fruit in this.
Another solid Cab
Complex aroma...violets, earthiness, raspberry notes. Rich, complex flavor....raspberry and blueberry notes, some light spice. Tannins last long into the finish...a bit detracting.
Incredible juice. Really the best way to describe this wine: perfect nose, full enveloped mouth, wanted to eat this wine.
Whenever CH sources more wine from this area, I'll be stocking up.
Best if the Best
This is a wine that I regret not getting more of when I could. After waiting too long to pop the first bottle, I went back online to find out that it was sold out! Big bold cab, everything you expect from the best wineries in Napa but at a fraction of the price.
Will wait until another Stagecoach release happens and then I'll pounce.
great value, very smooth, flavorful, fruity, went great with pasta! Wish I could get more!
