Meteor Vineyard sits on a plateau of old alluvial gravels in Coombsville District’s geological “bowl”. Nature saw fit to form the incredible soils of this region on a diverse array of stony lake deposits and river sediments, resting on bedrock shaped by lava flows and other volcanic discharges from a time long forgotten. Coombsville enjoys a growing season with morning fog and afternoon winds that shorten midday heat; maritime influences from the San Pablo Bay keep conditions cool leading up to harvest. It’s a very special place to grow exquisite Cabernets, and the list of blue-chip “cult” wineries sourcing from here is very long.
I hold all my wines for some time so I regret this is not useful for purchase decisions.
Nose that really opens more over two hours(with Aervana aerator) of profound black fruits, diminishing heat, briar. Taste of graphite, plush blackberry, hint of plum, now soft tannins, medium finish. Outstanding value from Napa. Most impressive was the nose. It is rare to get this sensory profile at this price point for cabernet apart from CH. This is why CH dominates my wine cellar, but even more so, my recycle bin!
Big, but lacks complexity of other offerings
Well balanced, assertive cab. Lacks a lot of complexity. Had this after the 602 and liked the 602 better.

Love Meteor Cabs
We have thoroughly enjoyed this offering. Keep them coming Cameron!
Very easy to drink, mild bouquet, very dry, notes of blackberry and tobacco. The type of wine you like to open a second bottle. Went great with grilled lamb chops. Although not quite as good as I thought it might be for the price. Maybe it needs a little more time in bottle.
Awesome ..one of my favorites
I had been going and looking at expanding my wine selection beyond CH and then I opened the bottle... what a great wine! Thank goodness I have 6 more bottles of it. Better than Napanook or Opus.. very much on par with Silver Oak. At $35 a bottle a steal.
Another gem of a Cabernet! Dark and chewy and full of balanced fruit.
Truely enjoyed this wine, even my mother in-law, who is a white wine drinker enjoyed the 604
Very rich and smooth, we treated the 604 as a dessert
great wine & value
very CH like. Big jammy nose & palate with a cassin nose too. First palate was juicier, more structure develops ltr. Bold, dark red color, full body, with med tannin. Good balance of acidity / tannin.
great and rich
Great cab. Get until it's gone

For me, it was really important to consume around room temp. Additionally, it's a meal in itself! I got the best experience without food on the 2nd+ glasses ... the finish is so superb and long, truly amazing.
