CHW Confidential
Carneros has always been a favorite for lovers of Chardonnay and Pinot. A distinct AVA that was created based on climate characteristics rather than political boundaries (which is why some Carneros labels display Napa and others are printed Sonoma), Carneros’ rolling hills, marine fog layer, and loam/clay soils consistently produce some of the finest cool climate varietals that California has to offer.
Sourced from a Carneros winery that was producing single vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir before the AVA was even established, Lot 594 is a complex white wine that will satisfy fans of the buttery, rich style as well as those who prefer a bit more finesse with their Chards. Whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented, and aged in 50% new French oak. With each vintage routinely scoring in the 90-93 range from Wine Enthusiast under the producing winery’s label, this is a no brainer at this price.
