Wine Details

Opens with an inviting nose of apple, crème brûlée, ginger, and lemon oil. Well-defined tropical fruits and vanilla follow on the palate, backed by rich butter and honeyed apple. Beautiful acidity is on display here, exiting with a dynamic, mouthwatering finish.

Carneros has always been a favorite for lovers of Chardonnay and Pinot. A distinct AVA that was created based on climate characteristics rather than political boundaries (which is why some Carneros labels display Napa and others are printed Sonoma), Carneros’ rolling hills, marine fog layer, and loam/clay soils consistently produce some of the finest cool climate varietals that California has to offer.

Sourced from a Carneros winery that was producing single vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir before the AVA was even established, Lot 594 is a complex white wine that will satisfy fans of the buttery, rich style as well as those who prefer a bit more finesse with their Chards. Whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented, and aged in 50% new French oak. With each vintage routinely scoring in the 90-93 range from Wine Enthusiast under the producing winery’s label, this is a no brainer at this price.

This is different in a great way. I love the fragrance of fruit in each glass. I'm usually a old-barrell aged oaky chardonnay fan but this has changed my mind. Love it with summer shrimp on the BBQ.

A nice balance between fruit & oak. It shows a hint of pear at the beginning and a hint of butterscotch at the end. We would buy it again.

Carneros is one of my favorite chardonnay appalations. I like a barrel aged buttery chard. On first taste of Lot 594, I got a little metallic taste which was off-putting . My second taste, after chilling was better and I could taste the oak and the smooth butter I look for. This is a good chardonnay at a good price, and I would probably buy it again.

A extremely nice wine, the Carnero area has great soil and this is smooth and soft and at 1/3 of the price of a Rombauer Chard, a well made wine.

I have enjoyed both all of the reds and whites I have received. These are great value wines and I will continue to order them.

Oakier then we drink now, but a good reminder of what got us here.

I enjoyed this one but much prefer the RR Chards or a Charlemagne Grand Cru. Not an 'over the top' butter/oak effort but refined with the traditional Cali notes we all know and love. Floral bouquet on the nose with oak. Nice acidity, a bit of minerality, pear, agave and crisp.

Probably 3.5 stars for me but there was no option for that :-)

We do NOT enjoy buttery, oaky Chardonnays. However, this one had good balance. Would drink it again.

Some oak and bright acids this wine good for sipping or dinner. I like the big, buttery chardonnays but this is a nice change of pace at a decent price.

It doesn't match the Russian Chardonnay but it is a top notch wine that can go anywhere.
