Wine Details
Raised largely in stainless steel with a small portion going to neutral barrel, Lot 591 presents fresh, uplifted aromas of blackberry and black cherry mingled with red clay and peppery floral notes. It's plump and juicy on the palate, but lovingly juxtaposes the dark fruit and earthy clay components of the nose. It's supple across the mid-palate with anĀ elegant, lengthy, fruit-driven finish.

Produced from DOCG (for the uninitiated, DOCG stands forĀ Denominazione di Origine Controllata e GarantitaĀ which translates toĀ Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin)Ā vineyards in the heart of the Asti region of Piedmont, this is on the darker side of the spectrum for Barbera, stylistically combining the zip of Asti with the robustness of Alba.
