Wine Details
Nearly opaque in the glass with a brick red rim, with plum, blackberry compote, and toasty, chocolatey oak begrudgingly emerging. Like a black hole, the nose is almost totally concave, with the crushed red rock and white flower notes struggling to escape its gravity. Massive and lavishly structured on the palate, with dark fruit, pencil shavings and chocolate peering up from the abyss while gently recommending you place your remaining bottles somewhere cool and dark to be promptly forgotten about for another five or six years. Pure infanticide at this point, there's beaucoup baby fat on this one.

Acquired from the flagship "Reserve Red" program from the same winery that brought us shiner Lots 571 & 572. This program is a blend made from what they consider the best Reserve lots from their Mount Veeder estate vineyard, and is anchored by any of the Bordelaise varieties grown on the estate. Sold at triple digit retail under the winery label, this is a highly collectible red wine with utmost provenance and no expense spared winemaking. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it throws sediment off the cork, so you'll want to carefully decant this.
