Lot 565 hails from just north of the CA/OR border in the Rogue River Valley. It's smack-dab in between San Francisco and Portland and, as with all good coastal regions good for growing Pinot Noir, has a mountain range between it and the ocean but with an accessible airway to let the cool ocean fogs roll in at night and provide nature's air-conditioning during the day. In this case, the Rogue River drainage at the western edge of the Rogue River appellation (known as the Illinois Valley) provides not just cool air ingress, but the well-drained soil structures necessary for lovely Pinot Noir.
Rogue River Valley is a rising star in the wine industry; compare at $30-$40 under the original label.
Great pinot noir
Yes, a great tasting pinot noir, and also a great price point. Sad that I only have two- first one tonight, and I may keep the other bottle until our next frosty winter. Can you believe it is zero degrees in Wisconsin? Come on, it is March...
Perfect Pinot for Price Point
Very nice Pinot. Opens up beautifully. Fruit forward with Cherry notes. Finishes nicely. As Cam says in his review very much like a Sonoma Pinot

Smooth and Fragrant
Drats, I was logging in to order some more of this Pinot only to find it sold out. It's just so smooth. I love swirling and sniffing it as much as sipping. Great find!
A Pinot for Cab Lovers!
Pinot is a difficult grape to grow. Too often the result is a thin wine.
Not this one! Lot 565 is a wonderfully complex wine with a plush mouth feel. I wish I had purchased more of this excellent Pinot.

Decent, Perhaps Expected More
An easy-drinking pinot, a little on the light side, but nice nevertheless. Preferred Willamette Valley though.
Late to the party
People have been telling me to drink more Oregon Pinot. This is a good reason why. Cam, more like this, please.
You can't beat the price on this very drinkable pinot.
This wine is a great Pinot - more bright & juicy than others of this varietal I've tried, with a nice soft balanced jammy core to it. Highly recommended purchase!
